A survey of fishermen from Vela Luka and Lastovo conducted

After a survey of Komiža fishermen was conducted in December 2019, in order to investigate the mutual impacts of fishermen and seabirds the activity continued in Vela Luka (island of Korčula) and on the island of Lastovo, in cooperation with colleagues from the Ivo Pilar Institute from Zagreb. This survey was conducted from February 10 to 12, during which the participants were introduced to project activities and species involved in the project – Audouin’s gull, Yelkouan and Scopoli’s shearwater, and threats that they face.

Up until now total of 28 fisherman from islands Vis, Korčula and Lastovo were surveyed. This completes the first survey cycle. Once again big thanks to all the fishermen who participated in this survey and shared valuable information from the field with us.
