As part of the LIFE Artina project, on Friday, 21 June 2019, the Public Institution Nature Park Lastovo Islands organized a marine litter cleaning activities in the Uska bay, located on the southern side of the Lastovo island, which is exposed to strong winds and large waves carrying large amounts of marine litter in the winter months. The event was supported by LUZ Festival visitors, members of Lastovo folk ensemble and representatives of SMILO Organization. In only a few hours, more than 40 bags of marine litter were collected. Marine waste is one of the biggest threats to seabirds, and their protection is at the centre of our work within the LIFE Artina project.
